The Business and Economics Club of Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) organized an event in collaboration with MCBU academics, where they conducted an in-depth analysis of the work titled “How Institutions Are Created and Their Impact on Welfare” by Nobel Economics Prize laureate Prof. Dr. Daron Acemoğlu. The event took place at the Prof. Ümit Doğay Arınç Cultural Center.
The event began with an opening speech by Mehmet Uçar, President of the Business and Economics Club. Following that, Prof. Dr. Hatice Yurtsever, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, discussed the significance and history of the Nobel Prizes and emphasized that one of these prestigious awards was won by a Turkish academic. The event continued with sessions moderated by Dr. Nihal Emeklier, featuring presentations by Dr. Bilgehan Emeklier, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kubilay Çağrı Yılmaz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Dirik, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Özdoğan, and Research Assistant Şükrü Çağrı Çelik. Each speaker discussed the relationship between Daron Acemoğlu's Nobel-winning body of work and various academic fields.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to the speakers and a group photo.
