Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ) achieved a remarkable success at the Research Projects Competition held within the scope of TEKNOFEST TRNC 2025. The university’s team Pagit Spektrum: DEEPNETS was awarded first prize in the “Environmental and Energy Technologies” category with their project titled “A Biological Net Solution to the Problem of Ghost Nets in the Seas,” bringing great pride to the institution.

In the Social Innovation Competition organized in partnership with TÜBİTAK, the MCBÜ team OptiTech 2 also secured first place in the TÜBİTAK Presentation Awards with their OptiFuture project.

These two first-place awards once again highlighted Manisa Celal Bayar University’s strong vision in the fields of science, technology, and societal contribution.

Participating with 52 teams and 215 students in TEKNOFEST 2025—the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festival held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus—MCBÜ ranked 9th in Turkey among universities with the highest number of applications. The university also reached the finals with four projects in various competition categories.

As a higher education institution that supports scientific production, encourages young entrepreneurship, and stands out with technology-based projects, Manisa Celal Bayar University demonstrated a strong presence at TEKNOFEST TRNC 2025 both in terms of quality and quantity.
