A conference was organized by Manisa Technopark and the Manisa Technology Transfer Office in collaboration with ASELSAN, featuring Murat Aslan, Deputy General Manager of ASELSAN Supply Chain Management, Göksel Sevindik, ASELSAN Board Member and Retired Brigadier General, and Prof. Dr. Ebru Tümer, ASELSAN Board Member and Faculty Member at Gebze Technical University, as speakers.
The conference, held at the Prof. Ümit Doğay Arınç Cultural Center, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin and Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, faculty members, and many students.
In her opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar emphasized, "Manisa Celal Bayar University continues its collaboration with the industry through concrete projects. The Guided Project for Smart Products and Manufacturing Systems Research and Training Center (AKÜM) and the Manisa Defense Industry Technology Development Cluster (MASTEK) are among the strongest initiatives in this field. Collaborating with ASELSAN is extremely valuable for us."
At the end of her speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Kibar also invited all participants to the Aegean Career Fair (EGEKAF) to be held on February 26-27 at the Şehzadeler Campus.
Prof. Dr. Osman Çulha, General Manager of Manisa Technopark and Technology Transfer Office, provided important information about the work of Manisa Technopark and the Technology Transfer Office, the current status of the collaboration that started with ASELSAN in 2018, its research infrastructure, and future vision.
The program continued with a video introducing ASELSAN.
Prof. Dr. Ebru Tümer, ASELSAN Board Member, stated, "Today, we will share not only our successes but also the story of a journey that began 50 years ago and is still being carried on with the same passion and determination." She highlighted ASELSAN's sustainable growth, with a 20% annual export increase, and mentioned that ASELSAN is now among the 10 fastest-growing defense companies in the world. "This is a great honor for us. Our journey, which started with radios, has now reached space. ASELSAN continues to develop with high-tech production and is advancing step by step toward becoming a major defense industry player. Our goal for 2030 is to be among the top 30 defense industries in the world," she added.
Prof. Dr. Tümer also emphasized that ASELSAN’s core values reflect the country's dreams and ideals for the future, describing ASELSAN as a place where individuals committed to serving the nation can dedicate themselves, develop, and realize their potential.
Retired Brigadier General Göksel Sevindik, ASELSAN Board Member, spoke about the importance of national technologies in the defense industry and shared his experiences, defining the three pillars of progress as academic staff, industrialists, and students.
Murat Aslan, Deputy General Manager of ASELSAN Supply Chain Management, gave a presentation on effective supply chain management and global strategies.
