Academicians from Manisa Celal Bayar University Lead Sustainability in Industry

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Dirik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Özdoğan, faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Manisa Celal Bayar University, have taken on an important role in the 2024 Manufacturing Industry Green Transformation Producing Cities Technical Support Program (MUSTD), funded by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and managed by Zafer Development Agency.

As part of this project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Dirik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Özdoğan will provide consultancy in preparing Gender Equality Plans and Corporate Sustainability Strategy Documents for eleven manufacturing industry firms. The academics will use their academic expertise and experience to lead the firms in managing their corporate sustainability goals and contribute to strengthening businesses in the areas of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

The project aims to enhance the global competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in Manisa and support businesses in transitioning to sustainable production processes. Over the course of twelve months, the project will help firms align with European Union standards and gain an advantage in accessing EU funds.
