Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) successfully represented Türkiye on a global stage by participating in the NAFSA 2025 Annual Conference & Expo, one of the world’s largest international higher education events.
Held in San Diego, California, the event brought together thousands of international education professionals and academics from over 3,500 institutions across more than 150 countries.
MCBU took part in the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion, organized under the coordination of the Turkish National Agency, and effectively showcased Türkiye’s vision for internationalization in higher education. During the event, the university held bilateral meetings with more than 50 higher education institutions from over 25 countries. These meetings laid the groundwork for future academic collaborations. Particularly, partnerships initiated with institutions from the United States, Asia, and South America have opened new horizons for MCBU’s global strategy.
Following the fair, the university’s International Relations Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Halil Babacan, and his team met with Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar to evaluate how the outcomes of the conference align with the university’s internationalization strategy.
Rector Prof. Dr. Kibar emphasized that NAFSA 2025 was a critical step not only in terms of academic collaboration but also in strengthening MCBU’s vision for quality-oriented internationalization in education and in advancing its position in global university rankings.
As MCBU’s first participation in NAFSA, the 2025 conference marked a significant milestone in enhancing the university’s global academic visibility and creating new partnership opportunities. With these new collaborations, the scope of student and faculty exchange programs is expected to expand further in the coming period.
