The Pagit Spektrum: DEEPNETS team reached the finals in the "Environmental and Energy Technologies" category at TEKNOFEST TRNC 2025 with their project titled "A Biological Net Solution to the Problem of Ghost Nets in the Seas."

Team members Umut Günay, Barış Can Gökçe, İrem Akalan, Beril İralgil, Hakan Çevik, and Özge Göksu, guided by faculty advisor Lecturer Mehmet Nuri Öğüt, raised awareness about environmental issues while introducing a significant innovation in terms of sustainability.

Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar congratulated the team on reaching the finals, stating:
"The effort of our university's young minds to develop scientific solutions to environmental problems makes us proud. The contribution of our students to technology and the environment through such projects is a meaningful success that aligns with the vision of our university."
