At Manisa Celal Bayar University, a conference titled “Overseas Opportunities for a Global Vision” brought together students with İlker Astarcı, President of the Turkish National Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event, held at the Prof. Ümit Doğay Arınç Culture Center on the Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Campus, was attended by Acting Governor Mustafa Harputlu, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, vice rectors, academics, students, and guests.

In her opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar emphasized the importance of students gaining a global perspective in line with the university’s internationalization vision, stating, “Our goal is to prepare our youth not only academically but also personally and culturally for the future.”

During his address, Turkish National Agency President İlker Astarcı told students that the path to success is not defined solely by academic achievements.

Astarcı stated, “Your diploma is certainly important, but what truly makes a difference is how well you know yourself and which aspects of yourself you choose to develop. Gain experience in different fields, take part in volunteer projects, and don’t hesitate to explore the world.”

Highlighting that programs such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps open important doors for young people, Astarcı encouraged students to actively participate in these opportunities. He noted that Türkiye is playing an increasingly active role on international platforms and underlined the importance of young people being active, entrepreneurial, and visionary participants in this process.

Emphasizing the decisive role of motivation and perseverance in achieving success, Astarcı added, “Don’t let the obstacles you encounter in life stop you. Every challenge is an opportunity that will make you stronger.”

At the end of the conference, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar presented a plaque of appreciation to İlker Astarcı for his valuable contributions. The program concluded with a Q&A session with students and a group photo.
