The "1st National Manisa Pediatric Nursing" symposium, organized by the Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Health Sciences in collaboration with Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, the Association of Specialist Nurses, and the Manisa Health Workers Association, was held at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center. The symposium was attended by academics, faculty members, and staff from various universities' health sciences and nursing faculties, experienced retired faculty members, nurses from Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, Manisa Merkezefendi, and Manisa City Hospital, students taking the Pediatric Health and Diseases Nursing course, and invited guests.
The symposium began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem. Opening speeches were made by Prof. Dr. Dilek Ergin, Head of the Department and Chair of the Department of Pediatric Health and Diseases Nursing at the MCBÜ Faculty of Health Sciences, Abdülkadir Utar, President of the Manisa Health Workers Association and the Association of Specialist Nurses, and Bahar Erdelikanlı, Director of Health Services at MCBÜ Hafsa Sultan Hospital.
The first session of the symposium was a "Pediatric Advanced Life Support" course, conducted by Prof. Dr. Alkan Bal and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Zengin. The course attracted great interest and participation from nurses working in pediatric wards.
On the second day of the symposium, panels on "Care Models for Children," "Current Technologies in Pediatric Nursing," "Nursing Care for Pediatric Patients in Intensive Care Units," and the latest pediatric nursing practices in chronic diseases in children were held. Panel speakers included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Şen Celasin, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Duygu Karaarslan, Res. Asst. Dr. Selin Demirbağ, Specialist Nurse Derya Yavuz, Specialist Nurse Emine Güldal, Specialist Nurse Buğse Eser, Specialist Nurse Halil Dönmez, Nurse Keziban Karaşahin, Nurse Kübra Sayman, Nurse Nurcan Yılmaz, Nurse Alperen Sekeler, and Nurse Gökhan Demir.
At the end of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Dilek Ergin presented certificates to the session chairs, including Prof. Dr. Zeynep Conk, Prof. Dr. Firdevs Erdemir, Prof. Dr. Zümrüt Başbakkal, Prof. Dr. Hatice Bal Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Hatice Yıldırım Sarı, Prof. Dr. Murat Bektaş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülçin Özalp Gerçeker, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Ebru Melek Benligül, Nurse Bahar Erdelikanlı, Specialist Nurse Belgin Öztekin, Specialist Nurse Pınar Dönmez, Specialist Nurse Seniha Kahraman, Specialist Nurse Abdulkadir Utar, Nurse Kübra Ergenç, and Nurse Gülçin Erdirek.
The symposium concluded with oral presentations and various case studies, followed by a group photo, marking the end of the 1st National Manisa Pediatric Nursing Symposium.
