The opening ceremony of the Oncology Annex Building at Hafsa Sultan Hospital, affiliated with Manisa Celal Bayar University, was held with the participation of various dignitaries including Manisa Governor Enver Ünlü, Deputy Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Manisa Deputy Erkan Akçay, Mayor of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Cengiz Ergün, Rector of Manisa Celal Bayar University Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, protocol members, healthcare professionals, and guests.
During the opening ceremony held at the foyer of the Oncology Annex Building at Uncubozköy Health Campus Hafsa Sultan Hospital, Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu, the Chief Physician of MCBU Hafsa Sultan Hospital, began his speech by providing general information about Hafsa Sultan Hospital. He stated, "Our chemotherapy services are provided completely automated and robotically under sterile conditions. Our hospital is the first in Turkey to prepare chemotherapy with a robotic system. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction of the Oncology Annex Building."
Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar emphasized in her speech that the opening of the oncology hospital represents a significant milestone in the region's healthcare services. She said, "Our oncology hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide the best healthcare to cancer patients. The medical devices and technological infrastructure used here will enable us to implement the most up-to-date treatment methods. In addition, the 9 outpatient clinic rooms in our hospital will be an important resource for monitoring the health status of cancer patients and establishing treatment plans." Rector Kibar emphasized that the oncology hospital within Hafsa Sultan Hospital is not only a treatment-oriented facility but also adopts a human-centered approach. She stated, "Palliative care services are provided to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients. In this way, we aim to improve the quality of life of our patients and alleviate their suffering."
Rector Prof. Dr. Kibar thanked everyone who contributed to the realization of this project, saying, "The management of Manisa Celal Bayar University, healthcare professionals, and all supporters have played a significant role in bringing this important facility to life. I also wish success to the healthcare personnel who will serve in this hospital. You are our heroes who will offer hope and health to our patients. This hospital is not just a facility but also a center to meet the healthcare needs of a community. I believe that all people in the region will benefit from it in the best way. Deputy Chairman of MHP and Manisa Deputy Erkan Akçay stated that he closely follows the history of Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Medicine and Hafsa Sultan Hospital and said, "The Turkish healthcare sector and our healthcare institutions have set an exemplary success for the world."
Governor Enver Ünlü of Manisa said, "In the city of healing, Manisa, important investments in healthcare are increasing day by day. An early diagnosis and treatment method based on early diagnosis is very important for a healthy body. As is known, oncology is an important medical science branch where the support and care services of patients diagnosed with cancer are provided. With the opening of our oncology hospital, we aim to bring together advanced technology and expert staff to provide the best service to patients. With our oncology hospital, a new era begins in Manisa."
The opening ceremony ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the relatives of the late philanthropist Dündar Çiloğlu and the cutting of the ribbon.
